E-Newsletter Issue 39
Sheffield & District Juniors Sunday League Weekly E-Newsletter
Issue 39
Welcome to this weeks e-newsletter.
**NEW LEAGUE NOTICES**
* A reminder that from next season (2010/2011) in order to affiliate with the County FA, all clubs in this league must have a named Welfare Officer, who has an ‘accepted’ CRB check via The FA CRB Unit and who has completed The FA Safeguarding Children and Welfare Officer Workshop (WOW). The Safeguarding Children and Welfare Officer Workshop have to be renewed every 3 years and must be valid at the time of affiliation.
* The League application form contains an error. Under the Charter Standard box it should say: “All member clubs in the 2009/2010 season must obtain the Charter Standard award by the start of 2012/2013 season at the latest or they will be removed from the competition”.
* All spaces in the 9v9 Summer League for this season's under 10s are now full. Please visit http://full-time.thefa.com/ListPublicFixture.do?divisionseason=622810&league=5484799 for the Rotheham Fixture list, which has changed due to drop outs, and new teams entering. For details of the Sheffield League fixtures, use the above link and select Sheffield in the drop down menu.
*Cup/Trophy Semi Final venues and kick off time -> http://www.junleague.com/viewarticle.aspx?id=2342
*With teams now starting to play midweek matches, please remember to email the result over to results@junleague.com within 24 hours so that we can try to keep the league tables up to date. We are missing 17 results from Tuesday 30th March, 3 results from Wednesday 31st and 20 results from Thursday 1st April.
*The most up-to-date League tables can be found at http://full-time.thefa.com/Index.do?league=5484799
*A reminder that the Cup/Trophy competition will commence again on May 2nd at the Quarter Finals stage. The Semi Finals will take place on May 9th and the Finals are on May 16th
Please note that on May 2nd, the final games in the Championship are due to take place with a 1pm kick off.
*Ranch Dynamos are currently under an FA Suspension, and therefore cannot play any matches until the FA Suspension is lifted.
*The League is looking for a sponsor for next season. If you can assist please contact Matt Hardman (League Chairman)
**OLD BUT RELEVANT LEAGUE NOTICES**
*The dates for the League Presentation evenings can be viewed at http://www.junleague.com/viewarticle.aspx?id=1782
*Under 7s & Under 8s – are reminded that if you are not playing scheduled “league fixtures” then you must have your friendly fixture sanctioned with the County FA. Also, players must only play in one match – not both as this is a breach of the FA allowed time allowance per day. Finally, only registered players (those with League Registration cards) can play, otherwise this invalidates your insurance.
*Reminder no player registration cards no game. Clubs are signing the match card to say that they have checked the opposition match cards and that the match card contains the correct information. If, during, or after the game, it is found out that a player does not have or has an incorrect registration card, both managers will be charged with a breach of competition rules.
*Charter Standard Clinics: To help support clubs obtain Charter Standard also to help the clubs that will be going through the new Charter Standard annual renewal process or to help clubs obtain the kitemark standard: http://www.junleague.com/viewarticle.aspx?id=1741
*Please remember all results have to be reported by 6pm on Sunday evening. Please send all the results to results@junleague.com and League Cup/Trophy results must also be emailed to cupresults@junleague.com A number of people are emailing results to the League Secretary, which prevents the other people who access the results@junleague.com email address from viewing the results. REMEMBER THE HOME TEAM IS FINED £5 PER MISSING OR LATE RESULT.
*I have put an information sheet in the League Info area on the League Website (www.junleague.com). The sheet answers the most frequently asked questions I receive, so I hope you find it a useful tool – please make sure all your managers read it.
*A reminder that the up-to-date contact details for all managers can be found on the League website (www.junleague.com) in the League Info area.
*Details regarding the Charter Standard annual health check are now on the League website (http://www.junleague.com/viewarticle.aspx?id=1547). If the deadline for the health check is not met, then clubs will lose this award.
**WELFARE NEWS**
Sheffield & District Junior League RESPECT Video Competition
As you will be aware, this League has signed up to the Respect programme. Every couple of weeks we regularly change the video on the site to show a FA RESPECT campaign video. New videos come available every couple of months and have previously included Ray Winstone and Howard Webb. The League is determined to assist in the implementation of the Respect programme and this has seen the introduction of designated spectator areas and the fair-play handshake prior to matches. To take this one stage further, the League is running a competition for clubs to produce their own Respect video which will be shown on the League website. The video should include your club logo or name and mention of the Sheffield & District Junior League. Please make sure that videos are appropriate to be watched by all and that you have the consent of those (and their parent/guardian) filmed. All videos will be put on the League website, with prizes on offer to the winning video. All videos to be submitted to the YouTube (www.youtube.com) network, with the link to the video to be sent to the League secretary (nathan.batchelor@junleague.com). The closing date for submitting videos to be entered for the competition is April 25th 2010. The competition is open to member clubs only.
Good luck.

A reminder that from next season (2010/2011) in order to affiliate with the County FA, all clubs in this league must have a named Welfare Officer, who has an ‘accepted’ CRB check via The FA CRB Unit and who has completed The FA Safeguarding Children and Welfare Officer Workshop (WOW).
