Issue 22
Welcome to this weeks e-newsletter. The purpose of the e-newsletters is to keep you informed of news and events within the league and the wider grassroots football community.
The newsletter is emailed out to all club secretaries on a Friday and now also appears on the website (www.junleague.com).

** NEW LEAGUE NOTICES**
- Today I received a request to postpone a game on the 27th December. This has clearly passed the 28 day deadline require under domestic rule 9(A) and the team in question will now have to play the fixture or if they do not fulfil the fixture they will receive a charge. If they are charged and are found guilty they risk a possible fine and points deduction - this could have been avoided. I have regularly mentioned in this newsletter, and in the managers information guide how to postpone fixtures to make sure clubs stay within the rules of the competition and don't pick up fines.
- Can I remind teams that home managers have to notify you opponents at least four clear days prior to the playing of the match, not including day of match or day of notification in accordance with Standard Code Of Rules 10 (D) - already teams have received fines for this and again this is preventable.
- In order to help with developing the League can I ask clubs to consider the following questions: A) What does the League do well? B) Where can the League improve? C) What suggestions does your club have in order to help improve the League? No time limit in responding to the above, but I am keen to hear from every club. Please send comments to the League Secretary (nathan.batchelor@junleague.com)
- I am away next week, back on Friday. So I will not be picking up any phone messages. I will have limited access to my emails, I will try and answer as many emails as I can whilst I am away, but please be aware that it maybe a few days before I get back to you.
- If you have any news stories, please let me have them, so that I can include them on the League website.
- On behalf of the League, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

**OLD BUT RELEVANT LEAGUE NOTICES**
- I have put an information sheet in the League Info area on the League Website (www.junleague.com). The sheet answers the most frequently asked questions I receive, so I hope you find it a useful tool – please make sure all your managers read it.
- The cup/trophy draw for the under 9s to under 16s has taken place and is now on the League website. Click on the fixtures/results tab at the top of the website (www.junleague.com) to view the draw.
- Please remember all results have to be reported by 6pm on Sunday evening. Please send all the results to results@junleague.com and League Cup/Trophy results must also be emailed to cupresults@junleague.com A number of people are emailing results to the League Secretary, which prevents the other people who access the results@junleague.com email address from viewing the results.
- A reminder that the up-to-date contact details for all managers can be found on the League website (www.junleague.com) in the League Info area.
- The Sheffield & Hallamshire Tesco Cup (U13) final will take place Sunday 28th February 2010 at Millmoor Juniors. Under instructions from the County Association, no under 13 fixtures can take place on this day.
- All club secretaries are reminded that when they have received a standard match card fine i.e. no sporting points they must contact the age group registrar with the missing details (as well as pay the fine).
- A reminder that clubs can bring forward league fixtures, just let your age-group registrar know. If you find yourself with a blank week and also know that another team within your division is not playing please arrange to play your league fixture, as this will help everyone.
- Details regarding the Charter Standard annual health check are now on the League website (www.junleague.com). If the deadline for the health check is not met, then clubs will lose this award.
- As it stands at present, the last date in the season is Sunday 4th April. No fixtures should be re-arranged past this date. Clubs will need to look at playing midweek fixtures if no Sundays are available. Remember midweek matches in this League can only take place on a Tuesday and Thursday.
**WELFARE NEWS**
A reminder that from next season (2010/2011) in order to affiliate with the County FA, all clubs in this league must have a named Welfare Officer, who has an ‘accepted’ CRB check via The FA CRB Unit and who has completed The FA Safeguarding Children and Welfare Officer Workshop (WOW). The Safeguarding Children and Welfare Officer Workshop have to be renewed every 3 years and must be valid at the time of affiliation.
If you have any welfare issues relating to the League then contact Lisa Smith, the Leagues Welfare Officer (lisa.smith@junleague.com)
