Sheffield & District Juniors Sunday League Weekly E-Newsletter

Issue 13

Welcome to this weeks e-newsletter. The purpose of the e-newsletters is to keep you informed of news and events within the league and the wider grassroots football community.

The newsletter is emailed out to all club secretaries on a Friday and now also appears on the website (www.junleague.com)

**LEAGUE NOTICES**

  • If anyone from the Worksop and Barnsley area would like to join the League Committee please email the League Secretary (Nathan.batchelor@junleague.com). Still not had anyone come forward

  • The League is still after clubs feedback regarding going to bi-monthly league meetings.

  • Can clubs please send details of their club welfare officers to lisa.smith@junleague.com so the League can create an up-to-date database. Lisa requires your club welfare officer name, address, phone number and email address. Can you please do this ASAP. The League will be making a formal request to all clubs for this information.

  • The League Secretary, Nathan Batchelor, this week was invited and has accepted to join the County FA Charter Standard Committee.

  • Ecclesfield Red Rose have asked the League to remind visitors to there ground that dogs are not allowed.

  • The League is looking for someone to collate all the results on a Sunday evening so they can be on the Website ASAP. Anyone interested should email the League Secretary (nathan.batchelor@junleague.com). The League do pay a small honorarium for this.

**WEBSITE NEWS**

I have now added a “Find A Ref” page to the website (www.junleague.com) this can be found in the notice board section. If you know of any referees looking for games please ask them to use this service.

**LETTER FROM SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY**

This is by way of a courtesy message to the League.

Here at Sheffield Wednesday Academy we are taking steps to offer teams from your League the opportunity to have an hours training with our senior coaches (Tuesday evenings 7pm to 8pm). We will be commencing with the SWFC Young Owls and Under 16s "A" Division. I will get in touch with the Clubs concerned myself.

Despite the inevitable (healthy!) sceptism that there will be suggesting that we are looking to take players - this is not the objective, it is to offer training to your players giving them the opportunity to use first class facilities.

Best wishes to both the League and yourself

Richard Groves

**UNDER 7s & UNDER 8s**

As explained on the recent fixture list email, the League will list those teams in the Under 7s and Under 8s who have blank fixtures, in order to try to get them extra games. Remember the under 7s and under 8s do not play in a competitive league. When organising a friendly remember to contact the county FA to receive sanction.

Under 7s – 25th Oct: Handsworth Boys, Dinnington, Thorncliffe, Handley Wood, Worksop Town, Rawmarsh St Joseph, Sheffield Rangers, SWYO, Beighton Magpies, Hillsborough Pumas, Redfearns.

Under 8s – 25th Oct: Rawmarsh St Joseph, Hoyland Town, SWYO, Dronfield Town, SUJB, Woodhouse, Crosspool, Brampton Rovers, Worksop Boys, Killamarsh, Kiverton Park

**COUNTY FA WEBSITE ARTICLES**

Sheffield & Hallamshire FA are please to announce the launch of its Charter Standard In-Service Training programme. Taking a new format for season 09/10, the In-Service training programme aims to increase the knowledge of coaches from the Sheffield & Hallamshire FA region, who are currently working within its network of Charter Standard Clubs.

As the season gets underway to its usual fanfare, preparations for Kick It Out's One Game, One Community weeks of action are already firmly in motion. Perhaps sport’s most prominent equality and community engagement initiatives, not to mention the biggest series of activities of their kind in Europe, the 12 day period between 15-27 October sees English football unite in a high-visibility stand against racism.
