E-Newsletter Issue 10

Issue 10

Welcome to this weeks e-newsletter. The purpose of the e-newsletters is to keep you informed of news and events within the league and the wider grassroots football community.

**LEAGUE NOTICES**

  • The League enters its 40th year this season. How do you want to celebrate this? Please give me your thoughts and ideas.

  • 40th Year Celebrations: The County FA and The League are going to put on a summer 9v9 league for this seasons under 10s to help them progress from mini-soccer to 11v11. This will be a pilot summer league, ideally played at a central location. The League is still discussing the proposal and welcome an early indication if this seasons under 10s would be interested, and if any venues would be interested in staging the league. The competition will run outside the current football season which takes place September – May and take place during the summer break, June – August.  The proposed dates are:13th, 20th and 27th June.  4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th July. 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th August 2010 These dates will allow enough time to prepare after the previous season and enough recovery time prior to the start of the new season. The format will be a very basic league structure and will adopt the same process of the designated leagues that the 9v9 league is embedded within. Each team will play against each other twice, 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. In the event of two teams with the same points it then goes to goal difference, and then goals scored.

  • Respect Fair Play Handshake – At the League recent executive committee meeting is was decided that clubs should conduct the Respect Fair Play Handshake prior to all fixtures. Many of you will be aware that this happens prior to all Premier League and Football League matches.

  • Under 7s & under 8s are reminded that when they submit match cards only the following information should appear on them: Match Date, Team Names, Managers signatures, referee details and sporting points. Under no circumstances should match results or list of players names appear. This is an FA rule.

  • Reporting Results: Results must be reported to the results service between noon and 6pm on a Sunday. The prefered method is by email. Until further notice please email nathan.batchelor@junleague.com with the results. The email must contain the following information. Age-Group, Division, home team and away team and the score marked clearly.

            Eg:

            Under 11 – Div A: Doncaster Rovers 1 – Leeds United 0

If the email/information is un-clear then it will be returned to the sender, and you be             asked to re-send it with the missing information. As you can image, with hundreds of results coming in, time cannot be wasted looking at fixture lists etc to work out who     played who etc.

All the results must be reported by 6pm. Under League rules, home teams will be   fined £5 per ourstanding result.

  • If anyone from the Worksop and Barnsley area would like to join the League Committee please email the League Secretary (Nathan.batchelor@junleague.com).

  • Dinnington School have been in contact to inform me they have a pitch available for matches. Anyone wanting to hire the pitch should contact Liam Kay at the school on 01909 550066

  • Wickersely Boys U12s are looking for friendly matches. Contact Russell Kettell for more information (russkett@btinternet.com)

  • Can managers please put the correct player’s registration card number at the side of the same number on the match card, this will greatly help registrars when they check the match cards.
